The Play
A ruler divides his kingdom and demands declarations of love in return. What follows is a collapse of family, authority, and certainty itself. King Lear is one of Shakespeare’s most devastating works—an unflinching examination of pride, loyalty, madness, and mercy. As Lear descends, the world around him fractures, revealing what remains when power is stripped away. This production brings the play into the intimate setting of the Robin’s Nest, where language, silence, and human consequence are felt at close range.
